Róisín Dubh Comedy presents

A Christmas KARL

Festive shenanigans with Karl Spain & friends featuring Steve Bennett, Fred Cooke & special guests WHO CAN’T BE NAMED.

Karl Spain

Karl Spain is Ireland’s favourite type 2 diabetic and host of the best show of the Vodafone Comedy Carnival, the “Late Night KARLnival” at Róisín Dubh. In fact he hosts about 500comedy shows a year and nobody does it better. His laid back, storytelling style covers so many topics and his Improvisational ability is legendary.

He began his onstage life as part of a breakdance roller skate troupe and then followed the natural progression to stand up comedy. He was also a model for "Pretty Polly" on account of his rather feminine legs. Far more than just a comedian, you may recognise him from such things as "The Lover's Guide" or the music video "Thong Song" from Sisqo.

Karl spends all the money he makes on Subbuteo and comics and will be delighted to see you in the audience, as you are definitely his favourite.

"Destined to go far, see him now while you can" Three Weeks

Fred Cooke

Fred describes himself as ‘honest, childlike and intrigued.’ He forgot ‘funny’. Fred is that guy you knew in school who made you laugh so hard you pee’d your pants a little. He hasn’t changed, he’s just become massively successful. He went from “Spar ad” star to “Republic Of Telly” stalwart to Vicar Street “Sell-Out” in the space of a few short years. He is at the peak of his powers now – what could possibly go wrong? No pressure Fergus.

Steve Bennett

Winner of 2014 Show me the Funny and The U.K. Musical Comedy Awards Best Newcomer and resident host of Róisín Dubh’s Comedy Clubh Steve is one of Ireland’s most exciting stand-up comics. A charismatic and energetic presence, he blends charming wit and discerning musical comedy.

& special guests WHO CAN’T BE NAMED.

We can't tell you who they are but we can say they are Ireland's favourite three-piece sketch group who don't do stuff on the telly about football. Get it? It's not Apres Match, it's the other younger funnier ones with Hog in their name.
