Patton Oswalt is coming
Two years ago, Grammy Award winning comedian Patton Oswalt was due to play the Vodafone Comedy Carnival. He had to cancel due to a TV scheduling conflict (he landed a role playing Principal Ralph Durbin on the NBC series A.P. Bio) but he promised to return... and here he comes!
The voice of Remy in Ratatouille, the title character in Happy and lead character Max the Jack Russell terrier in Secret Life of Pets 2, star of movies like Zoolander, The Secret life Of Walter Mitty and Starsky and Hutch, Patton also guest stars as the Koenigs on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He is probably best known for playing ‘Spence’ on The King of Queens for nine seasons.
Oswalt's stand-up comedy covers topics ranging from pop culture frivolity, such as comic book supervillains and 1980s glam metal, to deeper social issues like American excess, materialism, foreign policy and religion. He also discusses his atheism in his stand-up. His comedy special Talking for Clapping was released on Netflix in April 2016. For the album, Oswalt received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. This comedy legend is coming to Galway in June for one night only, on the first gig of his European tour and probably the most imtimate gig he’s done in years. There are not many tickets left for this one.
