Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway 2019 Programme Launch Night

Just as one festival season winds down in Galway, another brilliant one prepares to take off. It’s time to announce the full line up for this year’s Vodafone Comedy Carnival. All will be revealed next Tuesday at Comedy KARLnival in Róisín Dubh. It’s very hush hush at the moment but with acts of the calibre of John Bishop, Dermot & Dave & Ardal O’ Hanlon already announced, you know the full reveal is going to be very special.

Tuesday’s Comedy KARLnival has a staggeringly good line up of comedians who may or may not be appearing in the festival (Hint: they are). Joining your genial host Karl Spain will be the sensational Colin Geddis. Northern Ireland has a thriving comedy scene and Colin is at the centre of it. As well as selling out Belfast’s SSE ARENA next January (adding a second night), Colin is the creator and writer of Gedzilla films, an online based Sketch and Stand Up Comedy channel which has now seen him reach almost 10,000,000 YouTube hits.

Alongside Colin will be Barry Murphy, Ireland’s undisputed Comedy Don. He founded the country’s longest running comedy club, The Comedy Cellar in 1989. Barry has been a writer or performer or both on practically all critically acclaimed home grown comedy for several decades. His list of credits include The End, Father Ted, Soupy Norman, Stand and Deliver, Irish Pictorial Weekly and of course Après Match.

Described as ‘Fantastic’ by Nina Conti and a ‘Psychotically funny B**tard’ by Rik Mayall,  Tom O'Mahony is best known for starring in the hit TV comedy series “Damo & Ivor”, as the intolerable toff “Tarquin” alongside the late and legendary Rik Mayall, Tom has become one of the busiest acts in Ireland. His material delves into everything from his life as an MMA fighter to the pure savagery of being a panto dame. Tom has been a regular on Irish TV from Republic of Telly, Irish Pictorial Weekly, Bridget & Eamon, 3e’s “Uploaded-Uncut” and Irish Ghost Hunters. He's also a regular on 2FM's Breakfast Republic.

With support from Galway girl & Show Me The Funny 2019 finalist, Amy Walsh. This is a launch night you won’t want to miss.
