Big Show in Raleigh THIS Friday!

7/29/08
Well, it was up to Calgary for our first Canadian festival of the season - those guys really have it down!
It's so nice to go to sustainable, green festivals that treat you so, so good. It was also great to see festival friends The Duhks, Mansa Sissoko, and Tim O'Brien, and to meet new festival friends Lau and Basia Bulat. We had a good mainstage show and a couple of fun workshops; in one we did "Hit 'Em Up" with Maryem Tollar and the Toronto Cairo Collective! And a great time was had by all!
We then took a quick hop down to Lyons, Colorado for the Rockygrass Festival - and all we can really say is, WOW! Those folks know how to have a good time! (and they were about as green as the Calgary fest - a welcome thing). We had a great set and the audience response was absolutely overwhelming. We sold out of our cds in about two seconds flat - we felt just incredibly loved. Dom also hopped back on stage to join Sam Bush's band for a few encores - and the crowd went wild. Our first Colorado gig, but hopefully NOT our last!!!!
This weekend, we are looking forward to a very special homecoming show this Friday, August 1st. We will start the day off with a performance on WUNC's "The State of Things" at 12PM, so make sure to tune in. You can listen online here.
We will then head over to the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh, where will perform a full show, plus the museum will be showing The Great Debaters after we play. We were honored to be a part of this movie and will be playing some songs that we performed on the soundtrack as well!
We'll also be giving away free autographed posters to anyone who mentions that they saw it on the website, so make sure to stop by the merchandise table for your copy!
Click here for tickets to the show. It's going to be a big night for us and we sure would love to see you there.
