The Mighty Boosh’s Rich Fulcher will join Bridget Christie, Bernard O’Shea, Kevin Gildea, Eleanor Tiernan and Edinburgh award nominee 2012 Tony Law for ‘Tony Law’s Shitbox’ at the Roisin Dubh on Wednesday, October 24th as part of Bulmers Galway Comedy Festival.
Rich Fulcher is an American comedian, writer and improviser. Rich is most well known for his roles in the hit BBC comedy series The Mighty Boosh. He also appeared as Bob Fossil and other characters in the record breaking Mighty Boosh Live show, which toured the UK, playing both London's Wembley Stadium and the O2 Arena.
Rich began his career in Chicago as a member of Improv Olympic and the Second City National Touring Company. He was also one of the early members of the Upright Citizens Brigade. He played four roles in The Mighty Boosh with Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding which won the Perrier Best Newcomer award in 1998. Rich was also a core writer and performer in Unnatural Acts (Paramount Television) with Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding and Sean Cullen and featured in a Boosh project for BBC Radio in London.
Previous TV appearances include The Sarah Silverman Program (Comedy Central), Funny or Die Presents (HBO), Skins (E4), The Omid Djalili Show (BBC One), Miranda Hart's Unwrapped (BBC Two), The Wright Stuff (Channel Five), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two) and Journey of the Childmen (The Mighty Boosh on Tour documentary).
Rich first appeared in the UK as Professor Fulcher in the hugely successful Modern Problems In Science 'the world's only completely improvised university lecture' and then in The Rich Fulcher Show that was subsequently nominated for a Stella Artois Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
Modern Problems' transferred to The Bloomsbury Theatre in London, The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and went on to tour Australia and Singapore before evolving into a six-episode TV series for Paramount Television with guests including Greg Proops, Bill Bailey, Sean Cullen and Rich Hall.
Rich's first book, ‘Tiny acts of rebellion – 97 almost legal ways to stick it to the man’ was published in 2009 to download as an eBook on Amazon. In 2006, Rich starred in Snuff Box - his own sketch show series which he wrote and performed with fellow comedian Matt Berry. The series of six episodes was commissioned by BBC3. Film appearances include High Road, starring Rob Riggle, Horatio Sanz and Hangover 2's Ed Helms, He has also recently released a podcast to critical ignominy entitled Gone Riffin with Rich and Abed.
