Ilenkus are a five piece progressive/post/hardcore metal band from Galway, Ireland. Last year the band released their debut album 'Rule By Thieves' on Savour Your Scene Records.
Thus far Ilenkus have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with international acts such as The Ocean, Rolo Tomassi, James Cleaver Quintet, Xerath and Proven, along with a host of talented Irish bands including Shardborne, Gacys Threads, Five Will Die, Only Fumes and Corpses, Them Martyrs, Axis Of, Rites and Murdock.
Drop-D.ie described the band as “majestic post-metal”, while Terrorizer Magazine wrote that "you'd have to be pretty thick not to check these guys out - and keep your eyes on them!", while describing "Rule By Thieves" as "expansive and well written".
Released in September 2011, Rule By Thieves has been recieved excellently by critics. The bands’ sound has been described as “A mix of Metal, Grunge and Noisecore”, while being compared to acts like Mastodon, Isis, Dillinger Escape Plan, Tool and Botch.
